The Cycling Workout Nicole Kidman Loves (And Us, Too!)

We love, love, love group cycling classes, but sometimes they’re just not convenient. The room is packed and all the bikes are taken. The timing doesn’t work with your schedule. You don’t like sweat flying at you from the dude in front of you. Or you plain just don’t have a full hour to commit to a class, but still want to do something. And just cycling on the bike while watching another rerun of the Real Housewives of Gosh Knows Where? Well, that’s less than motivating. Which is why we’re are so psyched about this:

Short. Intense. Cycling workouts. On your phone.

Oh, yeah.

Cycle Express by Motion Traxx is part of the Cardio Express series and is like having your very own personal 20-minute high-intensity cycling class via your earbuds. Featuring voiceover coaching from one of the hottest Equinox trainers out there, Gregg Cook, with super awesome music from the one and only Deekron The Fitness DJ, we were not just motivated by but totally captivated with this workout. It was fun, high-energy and we worked our tails off — all in just 20 minutes.

Gregg’s style of teaching is rhythmic with the wicked beats of Deekron, and there is great cuing on timing, speed and form. It’s honestly better than a lot of the group cycling classes we’ve been to — you feel like Gregg Cook is standing next to you, motivating you to push harder and harder. No matter what your fitness level, “Cycle Express” has the best of both worlds: a great workout and fantastic coaching and music to help you actually enjoy it.

There are a total of three 20-minute workouts on the full album, and each has its own short warm-up and cool down. You could group them together for a longer workout, but we honestly really liked the short get-at-it-hard individual workouts that left us sweaty and happily breathless (HIIT!). But that’s just another reason why we love this workout — you can use them exactly as is best for you! For just $9.99 for the whole album on iTunes, it’s a heck of a deal.

Oh, and we’re not the only ones who love Cycle Express … check this …

So, this means we could totally work out with Nicole Kidman, right? Right …

Stay tuned for tomorrow when we review Treadmill Express, followed by Elliptical Express on Monday! And tell us: When you get on the bike, do you prefer a long ride or a quicker more-intense one? —Jenn
