A ‘No Food Photo’ Policy at Restaurants?

Prepare to get your performance panties in a bunch. ‘Cause if you’re like pretty much every single person I know, you probably take photos of your food every now and again. Or, pretty darn often. (Myself, guilty as charged!) But after I read this article that Kristen wrote about how some chefs and restaurants are instituting a strict “no food photo” policy, I was like, whoa.

Thoughts.

I have thoughts.

Pretty much every time I take a photo of my meal, it’s because I think it’s beautiful or that it’ll be totally delicious. So I’m, really — at least in my mind — paying a compliment to the chef and establishment. But, there is definitely another side to the issue, and honestly, it’s one I’d never really thought about before (and probably one of the reasons why some restaurants are kinda annoyed at people like me — whoopsies). So, not to make an obvious pun (but I’m going to make the obvious pun): there’s a lot to chew on here!
