Pigs in the Pen:
Cook time:
Total time:
Serves: 24

Difficulty: Easy Makes: 2 dozen piggies Here’s what you need: Tools Oven, oven mitts, cookie sheet, knife, cutting board
Ingredients
  • 1 roll of refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 8 maple syrup sausages
  • Cheddar cheese and maple syrup (optional)
Instructions
  1. Here’s what you do:
  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  3. Unroll the biscuit dough. You may need to help your sous chef with this unless he’s old enough. I always get spooked by the pop and the razor-thin edges of the unrolled can. Careful, yo.
  4. Cut the sausages in roughly 3"-long segments.
  5. Cut the dough to form strips. Roll each strip around a piggy and place on the cookie sheet. Make sure the flap is on the bottom when you put the piggies on the cookie sheet, as the cooking will seal it all shut without having to use toothpicks.
  6. Now cook for 10–15 minutes or until golden, crispy brown.
