Grilled Fruit Recipe

Grilled fruit is the perfect ice cream topper, is a great addition to meals either as dessert or as a side, and can be enjoyed anytime --- but especially works on that special day.
  • Your favorite fruits (My favorite fruits on the grill are strawberries, bananas, not-too-ripe peaches and apples)
  • Wooden skewers
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon stevia or honey
  1. Cut each fruit to easily fit on the wooden skewers.
  2. If you're heart desires some extra sweetness, mix together cinnamon and stevia or honey in a bowl. Lightly toss fruit in mixture.
  3. Place fruit on skewers leaving a little room on the end to hold the skewer.
  4. Preheat grill on medium heat.
  5. Place skewers on grill and rotate occasionally until juicy and slightly caramelized.
Hard fruit, such as apples, pears and pineapples, are easiest to grill because they hold their shape. Softer or too-ripe fruits will become mushy if over-grilled.
