Roasted Apple Cranberry Chutney

Easy to make chutney will become your new holiday favorite.
Ingredients
  • 4 gala apples, peeled, cored and cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 1 medium onion, cut into inch pieces
  • ⅔ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons mustard seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Stir together apples, onion, brown sugar, orange juice, melted butter, mustard seeds, ginger and cloves.
  3. Spread in a single layer in a 9 x 13 baking pan.
  4. Roast for one hour, stirring occasionally.
  5. Stir in cranberries and continue cooking for another 20 minutes or until cranberries are softened and liquid is mostly absorbed.
  6. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Chutney is great as an appetizer too! Serve with brie or cream cheese and crackers.
