Heat a medium sauce pan over medium heat, then add the olive oil. Add broccoli stems, carrots, onion and celery. Sauté until onions start to become translucent.
Stir in spices and sauté until you can smell the spices.
Add chicken broth and bring to a boil. Let cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add broccoli florets, beans, grilled chicken, Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add buttermilk and simmer 5 more minutes.
Salt and pepper (and add additional hot sauce, if desired) to taste.
