Where Do You Get Your Healthy Dose of Inspiration?

Credit: Horia Varlan

Getting healthy and staying healthy is no small feat. Even we FBGs find that motivation for working out and eating right tends to wax and wane over time. That’s why having some go-to motivation sources are key to keeping that fit bottom moving. I personally love books and others’ success stories to keep me inspired, but what about you?

in addition to the wonderful blogs and message boards from like minded folks, i get some motivation from watching others at the ymca gym. at the y we have a great melting pot of people of all shapes, ages, and sizes! to see a woman older then my grandma still doing leg extensions and hopping on the elliptical is a sure sign of keeping at it can do for you in the long run. and others, just to see them about everyday, you know everybody is here for a common purpose. to keep in shape and to keep healthy.

I get my inspiration mostly from blogs and websites. They are updated regularly and many of them are sharing a lot of personal information. Therefore I sometimes get the feeling, that I know them quite well 😉 You simply move closer to them than to the author of a book.
I am also highly inspired by fitness DVDs – if I see the fit women, if I see how they are performing I really want to be like this too.

I’m a Weight Watchers gal, so I go to a meeting. They aren’t my “loved ones” but they are all in the same boat I am. Sharing our stories, our successes and setbacks helps keep me on the right path.

This probably sounds silly, but when I saw the Biggest Loser’s running that marathon, I knew that I could do it.

For me, it’s a tie between blogs and tv shows. I love reading FBG, FitSugar and various yoga blogs to motivate me to try new products and workouts or to just think differently about my current routine.
I know you guys are big Biggest Loser fans, but I can never seem to catch it on TV! When I had cable, I was obsessed with celebrity fit club! Wish I could do a crazy bootcamp like that!

I get my inspiration from my boot camp group. We all have different stories but all after the same goal. It’s supportive and fun!

  7. Definitely the great world wide web. 🙂
