Pamper Yourself With These Grapefruit-Delicious Spa Recipes

grapefruit-spa-recipes-585This week leading up to Mother’s Day has been all about mamas, complete with pancakes perfect for breakfast in bed and a relaxing postpartum yoga DVD. Today is all about true pampering, courtesy of make-up artist Miriam Behar, who partnered with Florida grapefruit to create these soothing spa recipes for relaxation. Miriam is one of South Florida’s top beauty professionals, and here she shares two recipes that will help you get your relax on this Mother’s Day!

Recipes for Pampered Bliss

Grapefruit Aromatherapy Bath. This couldn’t be any easier: Scoop out the pulp of a Florida grapefruit until you are left with the empty peel (feel free to eat the pulp, yum!). Chop the peel into small pieces and sprinkle into your bathtub as the water runs. The fresh, invigorating aroma of the grapefruit oil, released by the steam and warm water, will create a calm, spa-like atmosphere in your own bathroom.

Grapefruit-Yogurt Clarifying Mask. This all-natural clarifying mask works great for most skin types. Try grating the rind (outer skin) of one grapefruit and mix with 3/4 cup yogurt in a glass bowl. Apply to your face with clean fingers or a soft mask brush, taking care to avoid the eyes. Leave the mask on your face for 10 minutes, then rinse and follow up with a moisturizer. Avoid sun exposure directly after using this mask because natural citrus oils may make your skin temporarily sensitive to the sun.
