Two Products for a Little Pregnancy Pampering

Pregnancy can be a little rough. From cravings for hot dogs to nausea that won’t quit to all kinds of puffiness and pain, it can seem that there is no end to the crazy things your body endures during those wonderful 40 weeks. That’s why every mama-to-be should take extra care of herself and be sure to take the time to pamper herself. Today I’m sharing two products that will help you do just that!

pregnancy-pampering-585When Oyin Handmade offered up its Body Butter Bar ($12) for me to try, I jumped right on it. Said to be a great preventive tool for stretch marks and thirsty skin, the bar comes packaged much like a stick of deodorant for easy application so you don’t even have to get your hands “dirty” if you don’t want to! I’ve never gotten stretch marks in my last two pregnancies — I attribute that to going early and a little luck — so I can’t say for certain that this prevents them. But it does really hydrate the skin. In fact, I had some serious dry patches on my legs and feet, and I would rub this in for relief, along with applying it to my belly. It can feel a touch greasy just because of the nature of it being a body butter made with oils (like flax seed), but I didn’t feel like it was too heavy. I tried the Original and the Coco-Mango Bar, which is made with tropical oils like coconut, mango seed and avocado and felt like a tropical vacation. There is also a Candy Bar — for the chocolate lover, of course.

Product two, coming right up: Mama Mio’s Lucky Legs ($21). Now, I’ve been so lucky to be pregnant this particular summer because it has been milder than any summer I’ve known since I lived in California five years ago. I’ve had little to no puffiness and swelling and my flip-flops aren’t even cutting off my circulation yet. But I still wanted to give the Lucky Legs gel a shot, and I must say, even though I don’t feel puffy, I felt de-puffed after using it. The gel is cooling and moisturizing, and it both energizes and calms your legs once you apply it. I loved to apply it after a shower and go prop my legs up in bed while supported by my Snoogle. It even smells refreshing with the spearmint scent. Ahhhh.
