FBG Runs with Kevin Hart in NYC

IMG_9812

I met Kevin Hart. That’s all.

Kidding. But seriously, you want to talk about a cool experience? For the past several months, Kevin Hart has been popping up in cities all over the U.S. encouraging his fans to get out there and run. The series started as a spontaneous 5K run in Boston, but now has become what’s considered the biggest pop-up series ever. Hart usually announces the next location on his Twitter or Instagram page. Jenn even had the chance to run with him (and meet him) when he showed up here in Kansas City!

At 7:34 a.m. on my last day in NYC with NikeWomen (full disclosure: they paid for my trip), we set off to run a 5K with several hundred other people. I am by no means a runner. I don’t like it. I get bored and I get distracted. But I thought, for you Kevin Hart, I will do this.

It was early and everyone needed a little motivation — and who better to motivate than the man himself?

Did you not just LOL? He was everything I expected: hilarious, energetic, inspiring and obviously motivating.

People of all shapes, sizes and fitness levels ran their hearts out (pun intended) along Hudson River Park’s Pier 26, which overlooked a stunning skyline of New Jersey.

Nike Pacers, professional runners who help pace others (along with doing many other things), were there to help people keep a steady pace — even if you’re like me and run like a turtle.

I was given a high-five by Hart as I painfully crossed the finish line. Even better (as mentioned first thing), I got to meet the funny guy himself.

Pretty rad, right? I earned some total bragging rights. Two FBGs have now officially met Kevin Hart. Who’s next?!

If he’s ever coming to a city near you, you HAVE TO check it out. Trust me, even if you’re not a runner, you’ll totally be motivated by the fact that you get a Hart high-five at the end along with a free T-shirt, some other snazzy little Run With Hart gear, and free food and drinks.

We totally dig what this man is doing: inspiring and motivating people to “create a lifestyle/mindset that everyone all over the GLOBE can relate to and achieve.”

P.S. Thank you, Mr. Hart, for not punching me in the back.

Have any of you joined the Run With Hart movement? If you haven’t, you need to watch his Twitter and Instagram page like a hawk to be sure to snag a spot! Erika
