The Helpful Hairbrusher

helpful-hairbrusher

The other day, my 3-year-old was helping me wrap Christmas presents. First, I grabbed the double-sided tape by accident. When he ripped it off, it tore a hole in the wrapping paper. He put our second piece of tape about two feet in the wrong direction. The third piece of tape stuck to itself. It was a comedy of wrapping errors and it took us twice as long to wrap it than it would have had I just done it myself. He also loves to help me cook — he’s my greatest sous chef — but I have to be careful if I have an ingredient I really need because he can be unwieldy when it comes to pouring. My youngest loves to help me do laundry. At her age, that consists of taking everything out of drawers, dumping all the socks, and throwing underwear around the living room. Kids. Bless their helpful little hearts.

You can see where this video is going pretty quickly … but it doesn’t make the thump any less funny.

Have your kids ever been super helpful? Mine love to pick out clothes for me. They’re trying really hard to get me out of my activewear. —Erin
