5 Ways to Take Your Family’s Elf on the Shelf Obsession to the Next Level
So, um, clearly I’m a little late to the Elf on the Shelf game. But my daughter is just now old enough to start doing fun little holiday traditions with, so, I’m making up for lost time. AND, I’m taking the whole Elf on the Shelf obsession to the next level because Mr. Elf has quite a bit of branded swag these days and recently sent some for us to try, plus my mother-in-law chipped in a few items. Here’s how you can get in on the extra elf fun this holiday season, too.
1. Board games
From matching games and straight-up board games, there’s no shortage of Elf on the Shelf fun you can have on game night. Make some hot cocoa, put on some Christmas tunes and play.
2. Puzzles
Want a puzzle that stores in a cute box that doubles as a lunch tin? How about a floor-sized puzzle you can all do in the living room? Got it. And it.
3. DVDs.
It’s the book, turned into a movie.
4. Hide and Seek Elf on the Shelf
How about a musical hide-and-seek game where you and the kids take turn hiding this talking and singing Elf on the Shelf around the house? So fun.
5. Elf on the Shelf outfits.
Because clearly your little guy needs a bomber jacket, right? (Note: there are SO many outfits and accessories available, holy cow.)
Now, tell me: does your family do Elf on the Shelf? How elaborate do you get with it? We may need to do pets next year … —Jenn
