Review: Fast, Fresh, and Fit Food with Factor

To say I’m “busy” is the understatement of the year. With a very energetic and creative six-year-old plus twin toddlers plus my business plus my ongoing wine studies, I have a lot on my plate. And, while my proverbial life plate is quite full (and I think A LOT of you can understand that!), the actual plates that I eat meals off of can be rather, well, lacking some days.

My husband and I do our best to meal plan and cook as much as we can, but our hands are literally full most evenings and it is a challenge. So, when I got the chance to review Factor — healthy and fresh chef-prepared meals delivered straight to your doorstep — it was an obvious and enthusiastic yes. I believe my actual response was: “Oh, please, yes. How soon can they arrive?”

And, arrive they did … in insulated boxes filled with frozen gel packs designed to keep the meals at refrigerated temperatures through transit. Once you get your meals, you place them in the fridge ASAP (where they stay good for seven days!).

Here’s a bit about Factor (and you’ll see why I was eager to try them) in their own words: “We believe that health and wellness starts with food and what you put into your body. Our goal is to help our customers achieve their health and wellness goals. We focus on being physically fit and healthy with nutritious, purposeful eating.”

Sounds pretty Fit Bottomed, eh?

Factor uses high-quality ingredients, and all meals arrive fresh and are fully prepared. You simply heat them in the microwave or oven for a couple of minutes and enjoy. It couldn’t be easier or more stress-free. They offer meals with about every dietary restriction and goal in mind (high-protein, plant-based, vegetarian, Paleo, etc.).

Not only are all Factors’ meals created by their team of renowned chefs, but each meal is approved by a registered dietician. The result? Meals that taste amazing, and are nutritionally balanced, too!

Every week, Factor has a rotating menu for you to choose from. I tried the Garlic Tomato Shrimp; Chipotle Chicken Tinga with Pickled Red Onions; Sliced Turkey Pesto with Roasted Zucchini; and Egg, Chorizo, and Pepper Skillet with Turnip Hash.

And EVERY SINGLE ONE was delicious. And filling. And powered some great workouts.

In essence, these are as restaurant-quality meals that are healthy … and ready within minutes. Just look at the size of those shrimp! (Those was my fave meal of the four.)

Factor’s plans are super flexible, so you can tweak or cancel at any time. Plans range from $12.83 per meal for six meals to $11.50 per meal for 12 meals, and they also offer a bunch of healthy add-ons like juices, snacks, and wellness shots — it couldn’t be easier to choose exactly what you want and need.

For anyone who’s busy (and who’s not?!) or simply wants to eat well without all the effort (hello, cooking and dishes), Factor is IT.
