Wow! Can you believe tomorrow is the first day of 2011? Bananas!
Because so many people are gung-ho and ready to change in the New Year, we thought we’d go along with this naturally motivating time of year for our monthly SparkPeople team challenge—but with a Fit Bottomed Girl spin. (You know we had to!) This year, we challenge everyone to set one goal that they want to achieve by February 1. Make it something that is S.M.A.R.T, meaning that it’s specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely. So if your goal in 2011 is to lose 50 pounds, set a goal to lose 6 pounds by the beginning of February. Or if you want to eat healthier, set a goal to eat at least five servings of vegetables a day. The idea is to pick a goal that challenges you a little, but not so much that it seems insurmountable.
Once you have your goal, then comes the fun part. Setting a reward! Whether it’s a new blender for smoothies, a pair of workout shorts, a magazine or even a long, hot bath, pick something that will make you feel spoiled. Come February, we’ll all be enjoying our rewards!
