Apparel for Your Beachy Active Adventures: Roxy’s Outdoor Fitness Collection

How glorious is the above photo? Clearly, I need to go back to Jamaica because I am JONESING for some active beach time and water sports. But while I am a long plane ride away from a tropical destination of any kind, we did get some new apparel here at FBG HQ that at least makes me feel like I could be working out on the beach. Which sometimes is almost enough to make you feel like you’re on vacay. (Hey, I’m at the gym…but I’m at the gym in a tropical-looking tank! Mojitos for all post-workout!) Here are two pieces we tried from the new Roxy Outdoor Fitness Collection

The new Roxy Outdoor Fitness collection has that surfing, outdoor-adventure look that Roxy is known for, but with a little more usability than just water sports. Part boardshort and part running short, the Split Water Running Short ($46) is definitely short. Made for beach babes, it has a two-inch inseam and shows off a lot o’ leg.

Made with quick-drying stretch fabric, it’s comfy and feels good on. And despite the bootylicious cut, it does have a brief beneath to keep your naughty bits covered, whether you’re rocking the surfboard or a run. While I probably wouldn’t wear this on a jog around the neighborhood, I would wear these on a boat or a paddleboard or, really, anywhere remotely tropical or near a large body of water (including a pool—hey, gotta take what you can get in the Midwest!). And during a run on the beach? Most def.

We love a good tech tank, but some of them are just kind of, well, plain. But this Roxy Cut Back Tank ($44) is anything but plain. With a unique relaxed cut and an actual print of the beach (oh, the beach!), it’s sporty and fashionable. Super cute with yoga pants or even skinny jeans post-workout, the tank is smooth, wicks sweat away and dries quickly if you get it wet.

With a racerback silhouette and lots of room in the armpit zone, it’s more fitted at top and flares out pretty wide, giving it an oversized look and feel. It looks super cute with a bright, bright sports bra. While I found this one to be a bit too big and baggy to work in bootcamp classes or yoga, I have a feeling it would be perfect with a swimsuit. And, again, on the beach.

If you’re active and outdoorsy and watery, the Roxy Outdoor Fitness collection is a great new line of apparel to try. And if you’re land-locked like me, it just might make you feel more beachy, too. Which, in my land-locked opinion, is pretty awesome.

Are you an outdoor workout gal? Love water sports and runs on the beach? Does your fitness apparel reflect that? (And, if so, can I vicariously live through you, please?!) —Jenn
