As you know, the Fit Bottomed Girls are regular, normal girls. We eat everything in moderation, we move our bodies, we take naps, we drink wine, and we certainly have a sense of humor. One thing that we are not: media experts. Erin and I have always been inclined to be behind the camera rather than in front of it, so all of this video we’ve been doing lately has been rather, er, interesting.
And then something really interesting happened this afternoon. We got a call from a local TV station who wanted to interview us about the website and the weight-loss challenges. Whoa. Talking in front of your Flip camera is one thing, but speaking to a LIVE audience in a real studio with real lights and news anchors and big cameras? Um, we’re shaking in our workout sneaks! But, how can you say no to something like that? Really? So, off I went to KCTV5 for what turned out to be a 5-minute on-air interview. And you know what? It went by in the blink of an eye. I left not knowing what I said in any way, shape or form. It was a blur. An out-of-body experience almost, where my mouth was moving, but all I could think about was how surreal it all felt. After watching the video back, I captured a lot of what FBG is about, along with the weight-loss challenges—although no amount of time could express how inspiring readers and all of these weight-loss contestants have been.
