No_Gym_RequiredDespite the fact that the cover shot reminds me of a Miller Light ad circa 1989 (seriously, I just see boobs), No Gym Required: Unleash Your Inner Rock Star by Jennifer Cohen is a surprisingly good and entertaining read. The idea that you don’t need a gym or complicated moves to get you in shape isn’t exactly new, but it’s one that we dig—and it’s one that is delivered in a really fun and sassy format. With plenty of mentions of guilty pleasure entertainment like TMZ, Madonna and the Spice Girls, we heart.

Jennifer Cohen is probably best known these days for her work as one of two fitness trainers on the CW’s new reality TV show Shedding for the Wedding, but with chapters on finding motivation, loving yourself, fueling your life with healthy foods (and NOT a diet) and workout plans galore, she also makes a case for being a respected author, too. While none of the information in the book is exactly ground-breaking or world-rocking, there are lots of fun tips for getting your mojo back and high-energy workout music suggestions. And again, she referenced the Spice Girls.

  2. I let me gym membership expire this year to save some $$. So I’m always on the lookout for workout ideas that I can do at home or without a lot of equipment.

  5. I think that learning to love yourself with good food is the best way to live a healthy lifestyle. Lifestyle changes work way better than diets 🙂
