Do You Wear Jewelry When You Work Out?
Is there anything better than a Tiffany’s box, especially when it’s given to you at the end of a killer half or full marathon like this Nike one in San Francisco? I thought not. And ever since Kristen’s recent post about accessories and athletics, I got to thinking. Although I cherish my “Run like a girl” necklace, I don’t actually run with it on. In fact, when I work out, I only occasionally run with my wedding ring on, I never wear anything on my neck or my wrists, and I’ll occasionally wear itty bitty earrings, but that’s usually only because it’s a race and I know I’ll be taking photos or because it’s a super-special exercise session, like the one I did with Bob (still swooning, by the way). But that’s it. I’m a no jewelry-when-working-out kinda gal. But what about you? Love it or leave it at home?
Would love to hear your reasons why, ladies! I know some of you probably wear some pieces with sentimental or even motivational reasons, while others hate having anything weigh you down. Do tell! (And random side note: Is it just me or are more dudes wearing jewelry when working out these days? Feel free to comment on that, too!) —Jenn

I only wear my running watch and the necklace from my last Women’s Half Marathon.
I crossfit so I leave the wedding ring at home, but I always wear my cuff bracelet as it has motivation engraved inside where only I can see it and every time I look at my wrist lifting or holding a plank or throwing a wall ball, I think of the words inside the cuff and it keeps me going strong!
I take my rings off so I don’t pinch my fingers. But I leave my necklace and earrings from my man on to motivate me to look even better for him. Though for yoga I take my necklace off
My first response was nope, never, until I read the comments. I do wear my wedding ring. After 37 years, I don’t even think of it as jewelry.
I said “never” but I’m not counting my running watch or my wedding ring as “jewelry” 🙂
I don’t wear a single piece of jewelry when I exercise, ever…and I don’t understand how other people do wear jewelry. Even wedding rings…I just think of all the sweat that must be building up on it…ewwwww!
