Tea Time: Sipping on (and Reviewing) Celestial Seasonings Wellness Tea

cup-tea
I love coffee, but I also love tea. (Who are these people that think you’re either a coffee or a tea person? Like you can’t like both? Same goes for being a dog- or cat-lover. I love all animals! But I digress…as usual.) So when Celestial Seasonings sent us some goodies from its new all-natural Wellness Tea line to try, we got to sipping!

tummy-mintTummy Mint Wellness Tea

Spoiler alert: I’m OBSESSED with this tea. So bright and refreshing and oddly soothing, I drank Tummy Mint in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening. With a really nice and balanced mix of peppermint, chamomile and fennel, this tea is delicious and is supposed to help with digestion and ease stomach discomfort. With no caffeine, it’s a perfect non-alcohol nightcap! Again, I’m obsessed and wish they sold it at Costco.

green-teaAntioxidant Max Green Tea Blackberry Pomegranate

Another spoiler alert (and something I should be upfront about): I’m not a big fruity tea kinda gal. In fact, orange black tea and pear white tea are about the only two fruit twists on tea that I like. So Antioxidant Max Green Tea Blackberry Pomegranate? Eh, taste-wise, not doing it for me. It’s not overly sweet or fruity really; more has just a touch of blackberry and pomegranate with good green tea. But, still, I wasn’t a fan and would rather drink plain green tea. However, if you like fruity green tea, this one is certainly worth checking out. A cup of Antioxidant Max Green Tea Blackberry Pomegranate has 35 percent more flavonoid antioxidants than other leading flavored green teas, and each cup has 20 percent of your vitamin C needs for the day. Green tea is already a nutrition powerhouse, but this green tea takes it to the…wait for it…max.

sleepy-timeSleepytime Extra Wellness Tea

Sleepytime tea almost has a cult tea-lovers following. People love them some Sleepytime. Honestly, this was my first time having it, but Sleepytime Extra kind of lived up to the hype. It reminded me of my beloved (Tummy Mint) because it’s a little minty and includes chamomile—but with a much less intense, gentler flavor. But, unlike Tummy Mint, this tea has the added power of valerian, a natural sleep aid. Sipping on a cup before bed while reading a book was seriously relaxing and a zen-producing moment I’d like to have more often. I went to sleep like a baby. (Well, more specifically, like one of those babies who sleep awesome and all night through.)
When it’s tea time, what variety do you like to drink? Any of these or other offerings from Celestial Seasonings? Or does another tea company get you a-brewin’? —Jenn
