Move at Work: 18 Ways How!

As a work-at-home mom, my days are packed from the second I get up in the morning to the second I lie down at night. I’m either running around after the kids, feeding them, changing diapers, cleaning up after them or taking them to the pool or park or hitting the grocery store. When they’re napping or otherwise safely occupied, I’m working. My days are filled with so much movement that my work time is weirdly also my time to relax, but that’s not the case with a lot of people. Odds are that if you have a traditional desk job, you’re sitting for hours upon hours of the day, which isn’t the healthiest thing you can do for your body. But you gotta pay the bills, so you gotta work!

1. Don’t hit reply. Instead of hitting reply to every email, make a point to walk down the hall to deliver a message. Not only will face-to-face interaction be a nice change of pace, but you can give your body the break from sitting it needs.
