3. Tablas Creek Vineyard
I spent at least 20 minutes debating whether Tablas Creek deserved the No. 2 spot or JUSTIN did. And if you asked me on another day, I might say Tablas Creek was better. So suffice it to say that these final three wineries are non-negotiable. If you go to Paso Robles, you MUST go. If you don’t, you will die an unfulfilled man or woman. Or baby rainbow kittens will perish. Or some other terrible fate will occur, like wine will disappear altogether. Seriously. It’s that good.
Made in the traditionally French style, everything I tasted from Tablas Creek was amazing. We were *this* close to joining the wine club — even my husband was on board, and he’s never been lured before by one. They age in these ginormous oak barrels, they have more 90+ point wines than they know what to do with and it’s just good. Plus, on site, you can even buy vines and they give you reusable water bottles to stay hydrated!
