The Best Snacks for Weight-Loss

We’re pretty nutty for nuts. In dishes, on top of veggies, as dessert, as a snack — they’re always awesome. And almonds? Well, they’re extra awesome and perhaps one of the best snacks for weight-loss. EVER.
According to new research published in the October issue of the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, crunching on 1.5 ounces of almonds daily curbs appetite without increasing calorie intake or body weight. That’s right — despite the additional 250 calories the almond-eaters were getting, they did not increase how many calories they ate in a day or their weight. Researchers guess that the almonds — with their healthy monounsaturated fat, fiber, protein and vitamin E — helped reduce hunger and the desire to eat as compared to those in the control group who weren’t eating almonds. Talk about a fabulous snack for weight-loss!
And while we’re decidedly not into counting calories (yawn!), we do think this news is pretty darn cool.
