Nutrition to Go: Happy Squeeze Greek Yogurt Pouches

I make no bones about my devotion to Greek yogurt. I love it for smoothies, I love it with fruit, I love it with a little cinnamon … I just love it.
While I normally stick to plain and add my own flavors (like fresh berries and a drizzle of honey), that’s not always the handiest option. Sometimes, I just want to grab my breakfast and go, you know?
Happy Family Happy Squeeze Greek Yogurt Pouches combine the best of both worlds. The pouches, available in Razzleberry, Super Strawberry and Peachy Keen, contain no artificial colors or flavors, trans fats, GMOs, and are certified USDA organic, gluten-free and kosher. Each pouch has just a gram of fat, 15 to 20 mg sodium and 110 calories. They also have 2 grams of fiber, 2 grams of protein, 23 grams carbohydrates and 17 to 19 grams of sugar. Additionally, they pack a solid amount of calcium, vitamin C and vitamin D.

Now, although these pouches are marketed to people of all ages, they’re certainly kid-appropriate. The flavor is very sweet and fruity, and the amount in each is quite small (99 grams per pouch, compared to 150 to 170 grams in your standard single-serving container of yogurt).
They’re super handy: they take up very little room, don’t require any sort of utensil and they don’t need to be refrigerated, so you can keep them in your purse of gym bag to grab when you’re in need of a small snack. Just keep in mind, it is small — a couple of good squeezes and you’re pretty much done.
At around $1.79 a piece, this is also a pretty affordable option, especially if you like having something around for both you and the kids. As long as you keep in mind that amount of sugar compared to the overall content is significant, this is a tasty treat that offers some good nutrition. Plus, Happy Family supports a good cause: every product sold supports Project Peanut Butter, a nonprofit that feeds starving children in Africa. We can all feel good about that.
Is this the kind of snack you’d stock up on? What do you reach for when you need to nosh on the run? —Kristen
