With the weather getting seriously cold — and so darn windy (what is it with the wind lately?!) — we are already longing for the days of summer. The days of shorts and sandals. The smell of a good grill going. The feel of warm sunshine on our shoulders. In a nutshell, we’re in serious need of a barbecue. So this new Sweet & Spicy BBQ SunChips flavor? Perfect timing.
Slightly spicy with a little honey sweetness and that whole-grain crunch that SunChips are known for, these are like a barbecue in your mouth.
And check out the nutritionals. One ounce of chips for 140 calories isn’t too shabby at all, and these chips are actually filling with fiber.
The ingredient list is clean, too. Love that chipotle chile pepper and molasses — such great smoky barbecue flavor!
Of all the chips out there, we really love how SunChips have some texture to them. They are so crunchy and filling — and yet still light.
Which is exactly why we don’t just enjoy them as a snack or alongside a sandwich. This new Sweet & Spicy BBQ flavor is great for a number of dishes. Here are a few of our faves!
Fun Ways to Enjoy New Sweet & Spicy BBQ SunChips
- Soup and chili: SunChips are great crushed up as a flavorful soup or chili topping.
- Nachos: Skip the tortilla chips and use these instead!
- Inside your sandwich: You know they’re good alongside a sandwich, but try putting them inside, too!
- Scrambled eggs: Scramble some eggs with red pepper strips and onions, and then top with some crushed SunChips. The barbecue crunch is so good!
- Taco salad: We are huge fans of the taco salad, and a few of these SunChips take it to the next level.
- Roasted green veggies: Roast some Brussels sprouts, asparagus or green beans with a little olive oil, salt and pepper, and serve with these SunChips as a garnish or crushed up as a topping. The flavors go sooo well together!
Only problem with the Sweet & Spicy BBQ SunChips is that it’s really hard not to eat or cook with the whole bag at once!
