Kick Your Excuses to the Curb

There are plenty of reasons to not work out or to throw in a frozen pizza instead of cooking dinner from scratch. Maybe you and your kids have the flu. Maybe you hurt your knee and can’t get to the gym. Maybe your car broke down on grocery day and you couldn’t get groceries, let alone hit the gym. Those are valid, right? But in addition to reasons, we all come up with clever little excuses for not being as healthy as we know we could be. Like, ugh, this couch is so comfortable. Or, I don’t have any clean workout clothes. Or mine: I just can’t face wrangling the kids at the gym today. Excuses let that guilty feeling creep in — because we know it’s just that, an excuse and not a valid reason.

This inner motivational debate is the focus of week six of our Fit Bottomed Girls Anti-Diet video series, in which we’ve been sharing some of the 10-minute fixes we include in our book. This one in particular is one of my favorites because a) I get to say B.S. and 2) it makes you look at the areas in your life where you are making excuses and get down to the nitty-gritty reasons why. See for yourself …

We’ve got four more weeks in our series, so be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel so you don’t miss a single 10-Minute Fix. And, just in case you haven’t picked up your copy of the book yet, what are you waiting for? No excuses! (See what I did there?) Be sure to hit us up on social media with #FBGAntiDiet, too, to show us how you’re embracing the anti-diet life — and how you’re kicking your excuses to the curb!
