Hollywood Trainer-Approved Seasoned Nuts Recipe

Seasoned nuts are not a hard sell around here. And when the recipe comes from a trainer who’s worked with Olympians, professional athletes and A-list celebrities, well, let’s just say we were real quick to ask if we could share it here.
Paul Vincent not only has vast experience training others, but he has quite the athletic background himself — Ironman, expedition length adventure racing, open water swimming and track, oh my! What we love most, though, is his philosophy about living a fit life: “People should still eat the foods and engage in the activities they love while achieving the results they desire.” Preach! (And get ready — we’ll be sharing some fitness tips from Paul in an upcoming post on Fit Bottomed Girls.)
His recipe for Spicy Seasoned Almonds was created for the Almond Board of California, and it’s as simple as it is delish. Check it out, then whip up a batch for yourself! Feel free to make it a double and send some our way if you’re feeling like sharing the love …

Spicy Seasoned Almonds

INGREDIENTS
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 sprig (1 teaspoon) fresh rosemary, chopped (stem removed)
2 cups whole, unroasted almonds
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon of salt
DIRECTIONS
Place butter on pan on medium heat to melt it. Once melted, add rosemary, almonds and sugar to the pan. Once the almonds are roasted, add cayenne pepper and salt to taste.
So doable, and so yummy. Rosemary and sugar — who knew? You might never buy pre-seasoned almonds again!
What’s your favorite seasoning combination? I really love ginger and curry, but rosemary is also at the top of my list. And garlic, of course! Kristen
