A friend of mine at work, who is usually the peppy one, was looking tired and drained the other day. I asked if she was okay, and she told me she’d finally given in to the cupcake truck that had been parking outside our building for the last couple of weeks. Now she was suffering from a major sugar crash in the middle of an afternoon when she needed to be on top of her game.
Eating unhealthy, sugary or high-carb snacks can result in a quick rush of energy followed by tiredness, depression or hunger again soon after. That’s right! It doesn’t just make you feel tired; it can make you feel blue, which really stunts your productivity. Not to mention it makes you feel awful for the rest of the day, which is no fun.
It’s so important to have food on hand that you want to snack on so it’s less likely you’ll be tempted by food that will zap your energy and make you put on weight. Healthy snacks for weight loss are simply a must.
Here’s a delicious recipe to help you through the afternoon slump without feeling guilty and sluggish afterwards. The best part is, it’s really flavorful and satisfying so you won’t even be missing out!
