My Favorite Olympic Moments: The Year Women Fly
I am so with Erin on those darn Visa commercials! I applaud those writers. I swear they sit around conspiring as to how they can force the most amount of tears to pop out of a human being. If there was a medal for Olympic crying by golly they’d have to give me the gold.
I have a new favorite Olympic moment thanks to Visa and those clever writers. A couple of weeks ago, I saw the Sarah Hendrickson/Amelia Earhart commercial for the first time, and I swear my eyes glassed over the minute I heard Amelia’s voice. You hear Amelia and then you see this woman practicing for a sport (women’s ski jumping) that was completely closed off to women before this year, soaring through the air like a mother truckin’ bad mama jama. YES to brave women! Yes to women flying! Yes to shattering glass ceilings! Yes to Sarah Hendrickson!

And then the tears! What about you? What sends your ducts into Olympian frenzies? —Tish
