Yo! Crunch This, Not That!

greek-yogurt-crunchI’m quite the sucker for texture when it comes to food. I basically dated frozen yogurt with Oreo topping in college because I just loved its smoothness with that chocolaty crunch. (That relationship ended after 10 pounds, as you might imagine—hello, Freshman 10!) Since then, I’ve been much more mindful of portion sizes, thereby preventing an unhealthy repeat relationship. And it’s like Voskos Greek Yogurt heard my call. They now offer YoGreek Yogurt + Crunch! Smooth and crunchy! Crunchy and smooth! My heart beats rapidly.

In each single-serving container, you get one side filled with nonfat Greek yogurt and the other with granola. Then you can mix the two together for your own smooth and crunchy treat. Brilliant! We got a few of these to taste-test, and they didn’t last long in the FBG fridge. With fun flavors like strawberry, vanilla, honey and blueberry, there’s plenty of variety to keep your tastebuds happy and 11 grams of protein in a serving to keep your belly full.

At 140 calories and 13 grams of sugar a cup, there’s no doubt that this is definitely more of a sweet treat or dessert than a snack, as it didn’t fill me up at all. And I do wish the yogurt was a little more savory than sweet (like plain Greek yogurt), but still, I’m giving this a fit bottom up. Smooth and crunchy, yo, yo! —Jenn

    Nothing drives me as crazy as looking for a nice plain unflavoured Greek yogurt and seeing all these damn flavours either sweetened with sugar or worse HFCs or even worse artificial sweetners. I just want a nice plain smooth yogurt. I add my own seasonal organic fruit, and if I want it a bit sweet I use a smidge of maple syrup. So much nicer then any flavoured yogurt which I find cloying.
