Review: Going Functionally Gorgeous with Powerluxe
Our dream workout apparel is cute and functional. And this new Powerluxe line from adidas is that, plus. It’s seriously gorgeous…soft yet fitted, sweat-wicking for the toughest of workouts, and made with delicate details and a twist on high-fashion prints and fun colors that just make you want to put them on and never take them off. Here are two pieces from the line that adidas recently sent us to review. Spoiler: It was love at first wear!
Powerluxe Houndstooth Short
Cut like a running short and super comfortable, the Powerluxe Houndstooth Short ($50) features that traditional houndstooth print with a pop of bright yellow that we adore. Besides the fact that I’m already obsessed with the color combo of navy and yellow, these shorts are insanely cute. The thick waistband is flattering and has a lower rise, and they are just the perfect length for running or a bootcamp class. With moisture-wicking technology, they also keep sweat away from your skin to prevent chafing. These are definitely one of our new go-to pairs of running shorts for summer! Love, love, love!
Powerluxe High and Mighty Tank
Looking for a tank to go along with those shorts? Say hello to the Powerluxe High-and Mighty Tank ($55). We tried this one in a bright yellow that goes perfectly with the Houndstooth Short—and holy cuteness. Every time I wear it, I get compliments. With a built-in bra and removable cups, the tank is super soft while still wicking sweat away. It’s slightly fitted but not overly tight, has double shoulder straps, a mesh-ventilation insert on back to keep you cool and a cute little decorative almost lace-like detail around the scoop-neck neckline (flattering without being too low-cut). This tank is great for a short jog, group ex class, yoga or Pilates. Again, love!
So. Damn. Cute. And functional! Yes, the line isn’t cheap, but Powerluxe is worth it. High-quality, flattering and able to stand up to tough workouts, we adore it.
