Color Me Beautiful: How to Find What Colors You Look Best in
The Goldilock Zone
The colors that suit you might be a surprise. I’d always had a fondness for army green and figured pastels were a wise choice with my fair locks and blue-green eyes. Wrong. Those of us in the mid-tone range need to look at muted brights.
The trick here is to get the color just right. Too light of a tint will wash you out; too bright will overwhelm. Slate blue, sage green and fuschia work wonders on my bluish-toned skin and make my dirty-blond hair look its best. Almost all combinations of blue/red work also; think plum, deep rose or burgundy. Anything with a beige or brown undertone leaves me feeling and looking flat. I look half dead in the non-colors (black and white) and may be the only gal on the planet who doesn’t own a LBD or a crisp white blouse.
