The Smoothest Sports Bra You Can Buy Under $50

smoothie-braWe review a lot of smoothies. But a “smoothie” sports bra? Well, that’s a first! But we recently got to try Champion’s new The Smoothie High-Support Sports Bra, and it was certainly smooth—especially for something that’s supposed to be able to support high-impact workouts, like running, up to a size 38D. And smooth in a fashionable and cute way, too. Not in an OMG-my-boobs-are-smooshed way.

First, the sports bra gets its name for feeling super smooth. It has a really nice feel to it that’s both comfy and functional in that it wicks away sweat. It also has seamless cups for a less uni-boob look that also helps support the girls as you jump and run and stuff. The cups are soft and lightly padded so that they don’t chafe or make you need that jacket post-workout—even if you don’t feel all that cold. (Ya’ll know what we’re saying?) With wide shoulders, a wide bottom band and adjustable back straps, this sports bra really is all about support. And the feel of this sports bra is really spot on.

One of my favorite perks about this bra though? No tag. And although The Smoothie features a U-back (which I’m not a huge fan of), you can move the straps so that they crisscross (far preferable for me—with a U-back I just always feel like the straps are about to slide off my wide shoulders). And a cushioned hook-and-eye closure is a nice upgrade from the usual pull-it-over-your-head fit.

Overall, The Smoothie is a reasonably priced sports bra ($38) that has a nice mix of fashion and function. It’s one of the cutest—and most customizable—high-impact sports bras we’ve tested. While I wouldn’t declare it my favorite sports bra of all times, for the price, it’s hard to beat. You might call it “smooth,” in fact…

Anyone else tried this sports bra? Agree with our assessment? —Jenn
