What Types of Recipes Would You Like Us to Revamp for the Healthier?
Foodie or not, we all have foods that call our names. My grandmother’s coconut cream pie comes to mind. As does my mom’s meat and potato pie and my dad’s brisket. Or my husband’s pork-heavy cassoulet. Most of the time, this food isn’t exactly healthy. Sure, it’s delicious, but it’s not something you can make part of the regular fit-foodie meal rotation. Which is what today’s poll is all about. We want to help rework your favorite unhealthy recipes for the better-for-you-yet-delicious versions for a new feature called Recipe Revamp! So tell us, what type of recipe should we revamp first?
The whole FBE team (in fact, this was Raquel’s brilliant idea!) is just waiting to hear your answers! So please tell us more in the comments, including exactly what dish we can help revamp! —Jenn

I actually would like Italian, Soul Food and Mexican! 🙂
Well, I didn’t see a Dessert Cuisine, but I should would love to eat healthy cookies, pies, cakes, etc.
Dessert! I would love a magical sugar-free, wheat-free, yeast-free dessert with no artificial sweeteners.
I have a blackberry cake recipe that calls for 1cup Crisco. My peanut butter cookies call for 1 cup shortening. Should I substitute oil or butter? Would it really make that much difference?
Hi Eileen,
Good question! I would try a product like this for Crisco/shortening: https://store.nutiva.com/shortening. 🙂
