Don’t Sweat Excessive Sweating: Thompson Tee Review

Fit Bottomed Dude Jared gave the men’s Thompson Tee a whirl.

Much as we try to do it all, sometimes we need a little help from our friends. Kristen called upon her husband, Jared, to help with this Thompson Tee review for Fit Bottomed Dude’s Week.

Okay, everyone: I sweat a lot! Whew, I’m glad I finally got that off my chest (er, well, underarms). When you live in Florida, where it is a million degrees for most of the year, it is not an uncommon problem. What is uncommon is my reaction to it.

I may be a little overly self-conscious about the visual signs of sweating. I find myself paying attention to how I hold my arms so as to not expose those areas. When I ask others if they notice the sweat stains on my shirt the reaction is usually no, but still, I notice them and constantly worry about them. Fortunately for me, my job doesn’t require suits, jackets, long-sleeved shirts or ties. I typically wear shorts, T-shirts, polos and sandals during the summer months. Despite wearing cool (literally!) clothing, I still manage to work up a sweat while traveling around the state.

Recently I tried the Thompson Tee with Hydro-Shield Sweatproof Technology. Over the years I’ve thought about adding padding to shirts to help soak up the sweat. William Thompson has taken that idea and knocked it out of the park.

When I first tried on the shirt, I certainly felt the slightly thicker padding in the underarm area, but after a few moments of wearing the shirt, it felt totally normal. I tried it the first day with a shirt I knew to be “sweat safe”—i.e. it doesn’t show too much sweat. After a full day of work, I did not notice or feel any sweat reaching the outer layer of my shirt, even though it was warm out. At the end of the day, I took the shirt off and there was no residual wetness within the pad. As promised, the shirt had blocked and then dissipated the moisture. On the second day, I tried the Thompson Tee with a known “sweat offender” shirt. Once again, the shirt stayed dry all day long.

In the past I had looked for a product similar to this and was unable to find a solution. It is great to see that there is now a product available to help those with sweat issues (like me!) more confident in their everyday lives.

The Thompson Tee, regularly priced $29.99 but currently on sale for $19.99, comes in both men’s and women’s styles, ranging from small to 2XL for men and small to XL for the ladies. You can purchase the Thompson Tee on their website.

Do you ever experience excessive sweating? Does the Thompson Tee sound like something you’d try? —Jared

And now I want some! It’s one of those *I wish I had thought of that* ideas. We all have sweat offender shirts, especially the light colored ones that turn yellow under the arms.

Wow, what a great idea. I have been looking for something like this for years. Wish I’d had that idea myself, I bet they sell like hot cakes.
