Workout I Did: Circuit Training and 5K Run

Run a lot? Don’t forget the strength training!

You might remember that I’m a big fan of group workouts, and one of my favorite groups is the Running Tabs—we’re a group of runners and athletes who like to get together and try to burn off more calories than we consume while drinking our post-workout beer.

We recently started a Tuesday night workout near a World of Beer that happens to be just a mile or two from where I live, and decided to throw a little circuit training in with the run. Each week we change it up a bit, but for the most part, we try to have a station for abs, a station for lower body, a station for upper body and biceps, and a station for back and triceps. Here’s a peek at what a typical workout looks like. And if you’re ever in the Gainesville, Florida area, come on by!

    Thank goodness you said “world of beer”. I couldn’t imagine a “world without beer”.I do earn it though……honestly!

    Love the fact that you all get together to motivate each other (aside from the beer at the end…hehe). I like the DIPS and shall include that in my own workout.
