Kellogg’s Special K Nourish: Which Flavors Passed the Taste Test?
Cinnamon Raisin Pecan: Before this food even touched my tastebuds I was a fan. The smell? B-E-A-U-tiful. Even Siena came over to investigate! First taste was terrific — full of raisins, cinnamon and pecans (shocking given the name, right?). Yum, yum, yum!
Maple Brown Sugar Crunch: The Maple Brown Sugar Crunch was my least favorite — I would much have just preferred to eat oatmeal with my own toppings as this was a bit bland. Be careful with this one, nut-allergy sufferers — although it didn’t say so on the packaging (other than on the ingredients list), this does contain nuts.
Cranberry Almond: The big winner! This hot cereal was super delicious and way fantabulous! Although it didn’t smell as awesome as the Cinnamon Raisin Pecan, when I took a bite? Wowza. I didn’t even need to put on the toppings to get a taste of the cranberries (thank you very very much, Special K). With the added toppings this cereal was even more delicious, and I even got a little zing of lemon in there. To make a perfect meal, I had a glass Silk Almond Milk and I was a happy girl with a satisfied tummy.
Fit Bottomed Line on Special K Nourish
All in all? These are some pretty good snacks and meals that are satisfying in the taste department and filling with a good amount of protein and fiber. They are processed and higher in fat than I expected, but most of it is the healthy fat from nuts. As always, an unprocessed snack like a handful of nuts and a small piece of fruit is best, but when in a pinch, these could be good for on the go.
