5 Yoga for Men: 5 Beginner Poses


5. Superman. Lie on your stomach and extend your arms shoulder width in front while keeping your legs hip width. With each inhale lift your arms and legs off the ground and lower with each exhale. Repeat five to 10 times while keeping your eyes on the ground.

    My main question:
    Is yoga useful / possible for older men?
    Back in the day, I was an avid martial artist. That was 30 years ago and many, many years behind the desk ago. I am not overweight, but living in hot, traffic-ful Houston I rarely get to the park for even a walk.
    Must I find a class more tailored to an older MAN, that is, not gorgeous 20-something ladies? I don’t want to embarrass myself or seem like a stalker. (I am happily married 33 years…..)

  2. Men doing yoga may be changing ever so slowly but most things in the Yoga world are still geared towards women.

    That said I don’t know why more men don’t do yoga. I have been practicing, at home, for 2 years now and I love it.
