Making You and Your Coffee Strong: Ripped Cream Review

Have we mentioned that we love coffee around here? And that we love protein, too, both for its muscle-building and belly-filling capabilities? Well, we do. Oooh, how we do. So when we heard about Ripped Cream, a high-protein all-natural coffee creamer that is gluten-free, lactose-free and is fortified with vitamin D, we were so, so, so excited to try it.

Ripped Cream sent us two of its super-cutely named varieties to try: Lean Vanilla Bean and Chizzled Chocolate. So Ryan and I hit up our favorite coffee spot for two cups of freshly brewed coffee, and then set up our taste-test.

He went for vanilla; I went for chocolate. A serving size is two tablespoons for 8 ounces of coffee and has 90 calories, 2.5 grams of fat, 110 milligrams of sodium, 8 grams of sugar and 5 grams of protein.

With no artificial sweeteners, the coffee creamer blends in easily, turning your dark cup of Joe into a sweet treat to savor. Drinking it almost made me feel like I was in one of those Taster’s Choice commercials.

Especially when we decided to sit on the porch and enjoy our new coffee-protein concoction.

While neither was overwhelmingly vanilla-y or chocolaty, both had a pleasant sweet and creamy flavor. And I’m glad that the sweetness comes from straight-up organic evaporated cane juice and not some other kind of artificial sweetener. While it’s not something I’ll add to my coffee every morning, enjoying it after a hard workout on a Saturday morning alongside a nice hot breakfast is a rather delicious and protein-filled way to kick off the weekend. And it’s certainly far, far better than many of the processed coffee creamers on the market.
