What’s in Alison Sweeney’s Fridge — And How She Organizes It For Healthier Eats

When it comes to healthy eats, “out of sight, out of mind” is a great motto — and one that TV host, actress and healthy living advocate and mom, Alison Sweeney lives by, especially when it comes to stocking her fridge. We recently got to chat with Ali during a recent Frigidaire and City of Hope event to celebrate the launch of the new Frigidaire Gallery French Door Refrigerator (um, gorgeous), and she shared what’s usually stocked in her fridge and ready to nibble on. (Side note: What is it that makes looking inside celebrity’s fridges so darn interesting? I mean, they’re real people, so obviously they eat. But sooo fascinating to us.)
“Being part of The Biggest Loser taught me a lot about being healthier,” she says. “I just don’t have unhealthy options in house. Why would I want to tempt myself with that — instead I have fruits and veggies and the ingredients to make good food.”
That said, nothing is totally off limits.
“I’m not too hard on myself, but I do the best I can,” Ali says. “It is about compromise. I try to be understanding and forgiving of myself, and that keeps me positive about workouts and eating right. I do arm myself with the healthiest choices I can, take snacks with me, know where I’m going, plan ahead. And I always eat before I go to a party. That way, if there are no healthy options — nothing but chips and salsa — I’m not hungry and have that for dinner. Although maybe I’ll have a few chips though…”
She recounts a time, before she got married, when she literally exploded a bag of popcorn in the microwave. Now, 13 years later, she’s turned herself into a really good cook and makes home-cooked meals almost every night for — and with — her family.
And to encourage healthy eating for her kids, too, she’ll blend up a blueberry smoothie and put the whole thing in the fridge (with handy adjustable shelves, it fits in her Frigidaire Gallery French Door Refrigerator). So when her kids come home, it’s the first thing they see. They can just grab it and go!
“You want to make sure you and your kids are armed with healthy snacks in the fridge,” she says. “Keep it well-stocked and ready to go right in the front of the fridge.”

What’s Always in Alison Sweeney’s Fridge

  • Rinsed blueberries
  • Greek yogurt
  • Apples that are washed and ready to go
  • Cut-up bell peppers in baggies that are ready to go as snacks
  • Smoothies

Great tips and healthy eats for everyone, Ali! What’s in your fridge? —Jenn
