Not exactly a vegetarian? Don’t worry! There’s no preaching or pushing going on here — just some good info on a plant-based diet, should you choose to check it out. Credit: sanitarium_nutrition_team, Flickr

Would you recommend this to a newbie triathlete who’s NOT interested in following a plant-based diet? (FTR, I already have.)

I have, too! One of my favorite things about writing for No Meat Athlete is that the community is laid-back and not at all preachy. Though our readership is mostly vegetarians and vegans, we also have a lot of people who are just interested in learning more about the plant-based lifestyle. We’re not out to convert anyone — we’re just a bunch of lovable dorks who like veggies and running.

Though the nutrition advice is plant-based, I’ve received e-mails from readers who are omnivores and found the information and recipes to be really helpful. I’ve also had Ironman finishers tell me they learned new information from the chapters on gear and training. There’s something for everyone in the Triathlon Roadmap.
