Watching the Olympics has its pros and cons. On the one hand, it’s thrilling and inspirational to watch athletes attempting incredible feats in pursuit of a medal. Shoot, even the heartwarming stories of what some of these kids have overcome in order to get to Sochi is enough to make me feel more motivated for my next workout.
On the other hand, it’s really, reeeaally easy to get sucked into sitting on the couch with the fam, watching hour after hour of athletic endeavors. Sometimes just seeing those snowboarders doing their gnarly jumps is enough to wear me out.
But, fact of the matter is that although watching Shawn White rock the halfpipe might get you totally stoked, you’re not exactly burning many calories doing it.
