So, this isn’t a totally new idea (especially in the CrossFit world), but it’s a super fun one — especially if you love good tunes and have a love/hate relationship with the burpee. We’ve done it at my gym The Fit Pit a few times as a warm-up, but it also makes for a super quick and good exercise to squeeze in your day when you can’t get to the gym or don’t have time for a full workout. Plus, I guarantee that by the end you’ll be cracking up!
As the graphic shows (feel free to save and share by the way!), the gist of this burpee challenge is simple. Play the song “Roxanne” by The Police. Then every time Sting says “Roxanne,” do a glorious burpee. It’s doable at first, but as Sting sings on, the Roxannes get faster and faster, and well, you just have to do it. And if you’re one of the few who can get through the whole thing without missing a burpee in real time, I salute you and your bad-ass burpeeness!
