Announcing the March Fit Bottomed Challenge: Get Mindful!

It’s a new month and you know what that means … a new Fit Bottomed Challenge! And for March, we’re getting mindful. Mindful with our workouts, our eats and, well, our lives!

One of the new things you’ll see us doing — starting TODAY — is that each Monday we’ll challenge you to start a new streak, where you see how many days in a row you can do at least a few minutes of either yoga, meditation, journaling or eating mindfully. As usual, check out the what we’re challenging you to do this week below. And be sure to check in each week to see more details on the next week’s Mindful March activities!

What to Expect This Week of the Fit Bottomed Challenge: March 2-8, 2015

Monday, March 2: Streak time! But we don’t mean take your clothes off. We want you to set a goal to do one of the following — yoga, meditation, journaling or eating mindfully (get more mindful-eating ideas over on Fit Bottomed Eats here) — and see how many days in a row you can do it to create your “streak.” It doesn’t matter for how long you do it each day, just that you do it each and every day. In the weeks to come, you’ll have the option to keep your streak going for another week or pick a new activity to try! Fun, right?  

Tuesday, March 3: We love mantras. And the right mantra can give you the words to help you to make a more empowered, enlightened and healthier decision or attitude. So for today’s challenge, we want you to come up with a mantra that motivates you. Share it with us @FitBottomedGirl, too, for a chance to win fit goodies!

Wednesday, March 4: For Work It Wednesday, we want you to put that motivational mantra to good use by using it during a workout of your choice.

Thursday, March 5: It’s Thoughtful Thursday! And today we challenge you to download a new yoga or meditation app to get your om on. Looking for a good one to try? We love this meditation app, and these yoga apps look fantastic.

Friday, March 6: It’s time to feel good with some yoga. Try these poses.

Saturday, March 7: It’s March and hopefully the weather is warming up a bit in your neck of the woods. If you can, get outside for a 15- to 30-minute run/walk without tunes and just focus on the beautiful sounds and sights of nature. If it’s still too chilly, hop on the treadmill or march in place indoors. While we do love to work out to tunes, use the time without them to just listen to your breathing and be mindful of all of the amazing movement your muscles are doing.

Sunday, March 8: Everything is better with friends, so today tell a bud about your streak and invite her to join in next week. Send her this link so she always has the latest Fit Bottomed Challenge info!
