I Wrote Down 15 Things I Love About My Body. Your Turn!
When I was younger, with the flat-as-a-pancake stomach of youth, I was critical of my perceived bodily flaws. It seems foolish now, because as I’ve gotten older and so much wiser, I’ve come to feel comfortable in my own skin and accepting of my body — appreciating it so much more for what it can do rather than how it looks.
But no matter how self-accepting you are, it can be a bit of a mental adjustment as we watch our bodies change and grow while growing babies, gaining weight, losing weight and doing it all over again. Maybe you’re still one who nit-picks your perceived flaws or has a list of things you’d love to change. And while it’s okay to want to work on yourself and improve, you can’t forget to stop and appreciate your body and yourself for what it can do. That’s why one of the challenges last week in our Fit Bottomed Challenge was to write down 15 things you love about your body. Jenn did it over on Instagram. And now I’m doing it here.
