If your kids are too young to handle sharp knives, make the most of prime distraction times to prep for dinner. Breakfast time is a great opportunity to chop and throw stuff into a slow cooker. Lunch time is a great time to chop veggies for dinner. Snack time is a great time to brown meat for later. If you work full-time during the week, you can use the weekends to chop veggies and have them on hand for soups and salads throughout the week. Basically, any time your kids are eating or sleeping, you can be doing something to make getting dinner together easier.
