5 Hot “New” Foods (and Drinks) to Try in 2014

New Food Trend #5: Savory Yogurt

Blue Hill Farm debuts the savory yogurt.

New England’s Blue Hill Farm has debuted the first savory line of yogurt. Made from the milk of grass-fed only cows, the all-natural yogurt comes in exciting new flavors like carrot, tomato, sweet potato, beet and seasonal squash.
These colorful, spicy and slightly sweet yogurts should easily find their place in your snacking repertoire and enhance recipes with their wholesome, low-fat goodness.
Currently, Blue Hill Farm yogurt is only available at select Whole Foods Markets, but I predict other companies will follow suit and soon savory yogurts will be lined up on the grocery store shelves right next to popular blueberry.
Food trends are fueled by consumer demand, so get out there and decide which of these hot “new” foods will still be around in 2015.
Have you tried any of these new food trends? Are you willing? —Karen

I would like to try new spices like Za’atar. Not into meats, alcohol, or sugar of any kind (plain yogurt is ok). I’ll try to hunt down the Za’atar at my local international market. Thanks!
